The American aircraft manufacturer Boeing has tried to withhold important information that may have led to the crashes of two Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. A committee of the Senate of the US Parliament has reached this conclusion.
The committee further concluded that Boeing improperly influenced test pilots during the process to re-approve the 737 MAX. The senators are also lashing out at the US government’s civil aviation organization, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), for the same reasons.
The FAA recently ended the flight ban for the 737 MAX. The organization considers the aircraft to be safe again, including adjustments to the software and extra training for the pilots.
After the disasters with the 737 MAX near Indonesia in 2018 and in Ethiopia last year, the device had to remain on the ground for a year and a half for safety reasons.
