China wants to make coronavirus vaccine “worldwide public good”
China announces its intention to strengthen international cooperation if it succeeds in developing a vaccine against the coronavirus.
The country wants to make the vaccine a “global public good”. That was said by Wang Zhigang, Minister of Science and Technology on Sunday, during a press conference in the capital Beijing.
The contagious coronavirus emerged in China late last year and has spread around the world in recent months.
Nearly 7 million people worldwide have now been infected with the lung virus, and almost 400,000 people have died from its effects.
