Eleven armed bandits killed in a border of Niger and Nigeria
The soldiers lost their lives in a joint operation against armed “bandits” along the border of the two countries of Niger and Nigeria.
The information was confirmed by Nigerian Defence Minister Kalla Moutari, who said the fighting killed a total of 21 people. “Five Nigerian soldiers and five Nigerians” and “eleven bandits have been neutralized,” said Minister Kalla Moutari.
“The DSF (Defence and Security Forces) of Nigeria are involved in identifying the bodies of bandits,” added the minister. Niger and Nigeria are fighting armed groups along their common border, including Boko Haram.
However, this last operation did not target the members of the Islamist organization. This is the heaviest record, recorded by the armies of both states during joint operations of this type.
