EU Commission wants to scrap travel restrictions for vaccinated tourists from third countries
Today, the European Commission proposed to the Member States to ease restrictions on non-essential travel to the European Union. For example, the Commission wants vaccinated tourists from third countries to travel to the EU again.
With the easing, the Commission says it wants to adapt the entry regime from third countries to the progress of vaccination campaigns and the improved epidemiological situation in several countries.
For example, vaccinated persons from third countries could re-travel to the EU. They must be vaccinated with one of the four vaccines currently approved in the EU.
This could possibly be extended to vaccines listed by the World Health Organization (WHO) for emergency use.
