In Great Britain, two volunteers have injected a potential vaccine against the coronavirus. This has been reported by the British public broadcaster BBC. It is the first human trial in Europe. The test is part of a study involving more than 800 people.
One half is given a potential Covid-19 vaccine, the other a control vaccine that protects against meningitis, but not against the new coronavirus. The volunteers do not know exactly which vaccine they will receive.
The potential vaccine was developed at Oxford University in three months. The pre-clinical study was conducted by Sarah Gilbert.
Earlier, according to the BBC, the professor said he was 80 percent sure that the vaccine would work.
Now she does not want to put a number on it, although she indicated that she is “very optimistic” about the chances of success.
