Israel: over 200 rockets fired from Gaza Strip overnight

The Israel Defense Forces reported the launch of more than 200 rockets from the Gaza Strip over the past night. The launches were recorded from 19:00 on May 14 to 7:00 on May 15.

About 30 missiles launched fell in the Gaza Strip. The missile defense system has intercepted more than 100 missiles.

Hamas missile attack on Ashdod port

In Israel, a powerful explosion occurred in the port of the city of Ashdod, after which a fire broke out. The reason was the hit of a rocket fired by Hamas militants into the fuel tank. This is reported by The Times of Israel.

There was no information about casualties or injuries. The IDF promised that the episode “will not go unanswered”.

The army spokesman’s office reported that the country’s air force planes struck several rocket-launching sites and two “terrorist structures” of Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier it was reported that by Friday evening, May 14, more than two thousand rockets had been fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip. The Iron Dome missile defense system was able to intercept nearly a thousand of them.

The largest escalation in the conflict between Israel and Palestine took place on the evening of May 10. Both sides began exchanging rocket attacks after clashes in Jerusalem.

As a result of the Israeli attacks, according to the latest figures, 126 Palestinians were killed in Gaza, including 34 children. In Israel, seven people were killed, including two children, as a result of the rocket attacks.
