Malaysia has to surrender WC para-swimming after ban on Israel
The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has taken the World Cup swim from Malaysia. The Asian country had banned Israel from participating in the tournament that would be finished later this year. The IPC then decided to intervene.
“All world championships must be open to all athletes and countries. They must be able to participate safely and without any discrimination,” said IPC chairman Andrew Parsons.
“If a host country excludes athletes from a particular country, for political reasons, we have absolutely no alternative other than to look for a new host country.”
