More than 30 died in food distribution by Nigerian church
At least 31 people were killed in a scramble for a free food distribution organized by a church in southern Nigeria on Saturday, police said. Seven other people were injured.
The drama was set in the city of Port Harcourt in Rivers State.
According to initial reports, there was a push before the event started, and then there was a jostling.
According to local media, a large crowd of people showed up. Many have been waiting since Friday.
