An attack in Solhan, in the north of Burkina Faso, left about 100 people dead in the night from Friday to Saturday. It is the worst attack in the country since the start of jihadist violence in 2015.
Armed individuals carried out a deadly attack in Solhan, Yagha province, according to a security source. The attackers allegedly attacked the military post first, followed by civilian homes.
The provisional death toll is about a hundred people, including both men and women.
The attack comes immediately after another deadly attack that took place Friday evening on another village in northern Burkina Faso. Fourteen people were killed.
“Unidentified armed individuals attacked Tadaryat, killing 13 civilians,” a security source said. A member of the security service who rushed to the rescue was also killed.
