These are the best cars according to 18,000 motorists
A reliability survey among 18,000 British drivers has revealed which cars are the most and least reliable.
The Japanese brands score very well, the Land Rover and Tesla are the least satisfied.
The research of the British magazine ‘What Car’ is based on the experiences of more than 18,000 car owners. The survey was conducted for 159 models of 31 different brands.
The survey revealed that Suzuki, along with four other Japanese brands, is among the top six of the most robust brands, while American Tesla has the most shaky track record.
Suzuki, which mainly makes compact, cheap cars and 4x4s, is at the top of the list of manufacturers of new cars up to four years old with a reliability score of 97.7 percent, followed by Lexus, Toyota, Mitsubishi and Subaru. The first European brand is Skoda in place of seven, surprisingly followed by Alfa Romeo in place of eight.
On the other side of the spectrum is the American, electric car manufacturer Tesla, who achieved by far the worst score with a reliability score of 57.3 percent while Land Rover became second to last with a score of 76.5 percent for the reliability of cars between one and four years old. Stable mate Jaguar scores hardly better.
