Trump announces the departure of white House lawyer
Don McGahn will no longer be the lawyer of the White House from the coming autumn.
That was announced by US President Donald Trump on Twitter.
He does so at a time when the investigation of the special prosecutor Robert Mueller becomes increasingly threatening for the dense circle around Trump.
McGahn steps up as a lawyer for the White House “shortly after the confirmation (hopefully) of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court,” said Trump.
“I have worked with Don for a long time and really appreciate his work.” Trump gave no reason for McGahn’s departure.
White House Counsel Don McGahn will be leaving his position in the fall, shortly after the confirmation (hopefully) of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court. I have worked with Don for a long time and truly appreciate his service!
