Uganda: Singer and MP Bobi Wine leaves his country for the United States
In Uganda, MP Bobi Wine, charged with treason, left the country Friday night for the United States, according to one of his lawyers.
Nicholas Opiyo announced on Saturday, September 1st, that his client left “last night, around 23:00 aboard a KLM flight to go to the United States.”
Bobi Wine was released on bail on Monday and was detained again at the Entebbe airport on Thursday while attempting to travel to the United States for treatment.
Following this latest arrest, he was detained in a government hospital in Kampala. The police finally released him, allowing him to leave the country.
