The authorities of his country have identified the young man from Ivory Coast who was found dead on Wednesday in the landing gear of an aircraft from Abidjan at Paris airport. It is a boy of 14 years old. He was in the fourth year of study, reports the Ministry of Transport of Ivory Coast.
“These are Ani Guibahi Laurent Barthélémy, born on February 5, 2005, in Yopougon (a district in Abidjan). His parents have confirmed his identity,” it sounds in a press release. The Ministry claims to have checked the surveillance footage of Abidjan airport and found that the young man climbed into the landing gear around 10.55 pm and clung there.
It was the time at which the flight departed from Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire.
According to Transport Minister Amadou Koné, the boy only wore a T-shirt. He had apparently climbed over the wall that surrounds the airport.
The Ivorian government says that it has taken measures to prevent a repeat of this drama. An additional security zone is being set up around the airport, which will be better monitored.
The boy’s body was discovered around 6:40 am Wednesday. The plane had landed at 6 a.m.
