12 signs that prove you are truly converted

Salvation is a gift from God to humanity. Because sin separated man from his Creator, God planned to reconcile us with Him through the cross. God’s love, manifested through the death of Jesus his Son, invites us to respond to this salvation with enthusiasm and gratitude. Are you truly converted? Have you truly accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Here are some biblical claims that a conversion is real and sincere.

1. You believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and the redemptive work of the cross

“He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:16

2. You have sincerely and deeply repented of your past sins, confessed them, and turned away from them

“At that time, John the Baptist appeared, preaching in the wilderness of Judea. He said, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 3:2

3. You have gone through the waters of baptism or are planning to do so to demonstrate your commitment and entry into a new life with Christ

“He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:16

4. You have received a new heart through the Holy Spirit and understand the issues of the Christian life, with the cross at the center

“And he who strengthens us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, is God, who also has sealed us and put the apparitions of the Spirit in our hearts.” 2 Corinthians1:21

5. There is no condemnation of you. You have the conviction that you have been forgiven, justified in Christ, and given eternal life

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1

6. You live in fear of the Lord and in sanctification, which does not mean you are perfect, but simply that your heart is sincere, upright, and right before God

“Seek peace with all men, and sanctification, without which no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 6:14

7. You put into practice the word of God that asks you to pray, fast, provide for the poor, and to practice every kind of good work

“Do the word, and do not merely listen to it, deceiving yourselves with false reasoning. James” James 1:22

8. You obey the Lord in everything he asks you to do for him and his will comes before yours

“As obedient children, do not conform to the lusts you once had when you were ignorant. “1 Peter 1:14

9. You are concerned about your testimony. You have a right relationship with others, refraining from evil and seeking peace. You understand forgiveness and live in love

“Therefore, while we have the opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to the brethren in faith.” Galatians 6:10

10. You practice works worthy of repentance, manifesting the fruits of the spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, temperance” Galatians 5:22

11. You are motivated by the idea of being like Jesus and manifesting his character on earth

“Therefore be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5:48

12. The world has no appeal to you. You live in expectation of the return of Jesus Christ your Lord and the rapture of the believers who belong to Him

“He therefore who would be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James 4:4
