Charlie (16) breaks the world rocking record

The New Zealand teenager Charlie O’Brien has broken the world rocking record. The boy sat on a swing in a playground in Gisborne for no less than 32 hours while he sang the national anthem. “That helps me through it.”

At a quarter past two in the afternoon local time, Charlie broke the previous record, which was in the name of a fellow countryman. Aimee Pivott rocked 32 hours and 3 seconds in Auckland on October 4 and 5, 2013 and was included in the Guinness Book of Records with that performance.

Two students from an American high school, however, claim to be official world record holders, since they spent 33 hours and 10 minutes on the swings of Andover High in October 2015. However, that attempt has not been officially recognized by the Guinness Book of Records.

Charlie wants to keep rocking until he reaches the forty hours so that his record remains untouchable for the time being.
