Eighteen IS-jihadists killed in Niger

In a joint operation, 18 Islamic State terrorists were killed in Niger, according to the statement of the local government

According to the Ministry of Defense, the large-scale military operation ACONIT took place between 8 and 18 June in Tongo Tongo (a region bordering on Mali; ed).

“Eighteen terrorists have been neutralized. Five terrorists have been imprisoned, including three from Niger themselves,” is stated in a communique. Armed forces from Niger, France, and the United States took part in the campaign.

The Nigerien army has not suffered any losses, not even in material terms. On the other hand, many things were recovered that had disappeared during a murderous ambush on 14 May. The government army then also lost 28 men.
