FIFA Ranking: The African top 10 and World (Feb 2019)

The February FIFA Coca Cola ranking is available. No big changes in African top 10, as in the world in this first FIFA rankings of the year 2019.

At the African top 10level, Senegal remains leader despite its 24th position in the overall standings. It is followed by Tunisia, Morocco, Nigeria and the DRC. Notably, the DRC loses a place compared to the last ranking certainly due to the rapid breakthrough of the Asian nations. Ivory Coast (11th) is still absent from the African top 10.

At the world level, Belgium still dominates the debates. The second champion of the world is ahead of France, world champion with a tiny point, 1727 for the red devils against 1726 for the blues. But it is Qatar that achieves the best performance of this FIFA ranking of February. The Asian nation gained 38 places over the period, due mainly to its crowning Asian Cup of Nations. Portugal (6th) and Spain (9th) are in the top 10, still marked by the absence of Germany, after one of the worst cuts in the world in its history.
