Justin Bieber admits: “I have benefited off of black culture”
Justin Bieber (26) is committed to more racial equality. The singer announced this on Instagram this weekend. The star says he owes a lot to African American culture. “I am inspired by black culture.”
“My style, how I sing, dance, perform, and my my fashion have all been influenced and inspired by black culture,” said Bieber.
“I am inspired by black culture. I have benefited off of black culture. I am committed to using my platform from this day forward to learn, to speak up about racial injustice and systemic oppression, and to identify ways to be a part of much needed change.”
Since the start of protests in the US, the singer has been sharing messages about the Black Lives Matter movement with his 138 million followers.
Among other things, he called on his American fans to vote on the days when primaries were held in a number of states. “I’m Canadian, so I can’t vote,” he said, “but please vote for me.”
