Malian creates Lenali, a social network for the illiterate

In Mali, 50% of the population can neither read nor write. But nearly 30% of Malians have a smartphone. How do those who are illiterate use social networks (Facebook, Whatsapp, Viber, etc.)?

To make life easier for them, Malian engineer Mamadou Sidibé created Lenali, a social audio network in local languages.

Illiterate users can post voice statuses in Bambara, Soninke and Songhay, among other local languages.
