Malian creates Lenali, a social network for the illiterate

In Mali, 50% of the population can neither read nor write. But nearly 30% of Malians have a smartphone. How do those who are illiterate use social networks (Facebook, Whatsapp, Viber, etc.)?

In Bamako, everyone is doing as well as he can.

To make life easier for them, Malian engineer Mamadou Sidibé created Lenali, a social audio network

in local languages.

Illiterate users can post voice statuses in Bambara, Soninke and Songhay, among other local languages.
