A few hours ago, the club of the Spanish capital, has formalized the appointment of Julen Lopetegui, the Spanish coach! A great surprise since the name of the Basque had not filtered at all in the Spanish media.
He has committed for three years with the White House and will take office at the end of the World Cup after two years at the head of La Roja.
After passing Real (A and B teams) during his playing career, but also by Barca, Lopetegui (51) has already led Castilla in 2008-2009. He then coached youth teams at the Spanish Federation and FC Porto between 2014 and 2016.
“Julen Lopetegui will coach Real Madrid after the 2018 World Cup.”
Real Madrid FC, announced that Julen Lopetegui will coach the first team for the next three seasons. “Julen Lopetegui will join the club after the participation of the Spanish selection at the World Cup, after two years at the head of the national team,” said the statement of the reigning European Champion.
