These gadgets presented at CES will soon be in the store

Every year thousands of new tech products are presented at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, but it is often a long time before they come to market. We can expect the next four novelties in the store in the next two months.

Sony record player with Bluetooth (April, price not yet known)
Good news for vinyl fans who also want contemporary convenience: you no longer have to mess around with cables and amplifiers. Sony presented a turntable with Bluetooth connectivity during CES. The device allows you to listen to vinyl via a wireless headphone or Bluetooth speaker.

The PS-LX310BT can easily be connected to a wireless speaker or headset via the special Bluetooth button.

Sony also leaves the option open to connect wired: for amplifiers that can only be connected at line level, a built-in phono preamp is present.

Acer Swift 7 (April, from € 1,799)
Stylish and light. Those are the code words of the Acer Swift laptops, which are released in 3 different types: The Swift 3, 5 and 7. The Swift 7 was the first laptop that was thinner than an inch. The newly proposed version has a 14inch screen (35.5 cm) with thin edges on all sides. Because there is no thick edge at the bottom, the laptop is much less deep than usual.

The screen has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and is finished with a layer of Gorilla Glass 6. Using the word light is an understatement: this new Swift 7 only weighs 890 grams! That is another big savings on last year’s model, which weighs 1.2 kilograms. The processor, the engine of the laptop, is the Core i7-8500Y; a dual core with a clock speed of 1.6 GHz. According to the manufacturer, the Swift 7 laptops lasts ten hours on a battery charge.

Sony Glass Sound speaker (May, € 600)
Another one from Sony: The LSPX-S2 Glass Sound Speaker. That is a design loudspeaker of ‘organic glass’ (Plexiglas) with audio in high resolution. The glass housing vibrates with the sound waves. In combination with Sony’s Advanced Vertical Driver technology, this provides “room-filling sound that is displayed in 360°” according to the manufacturer.

The wireless loudspeaker also has a Push & Play function to stream the most twisted songs from Spotify Connect, without having to look them up first. The rechargeable battery of the device sings for about eight hours. To create a soothing atmosphere, you can set the LSPX-S2 with candlelight effect.

Withings Move ECG (spring, € 129.95)
The French Withings we know mainly from health technology. At CES, the brand presented its Move watches. With the more expensive Move ECG you can actually – a limited form of – make an electrocardiogram, but also the ‘normal’ Move watch is not wrong. They look like a classic watch, but with a third hand that shows you at a glance how many steps you have already taken.

The manufacturer also prides itself on the longest battery life – according to them, the battery lasts for 18 months. Furthermore, the watches work like other activity trackers: steps, movement and height are measured and you can consult via a linked app. With the ECG version there is an extra measuring point in the strap.
