Woman bath neighbor with hot water for greeting her husband

Josephine, a 37-year-old woman, was arrested for reportedly bathing her 33-year-old neighbor, Blessing Christopher, with hot water for allegedly greeting her husband.

Blessing, an employee of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), was a victim of Josephine’s wrath on Tuesday night in Agbotikuyo, Lagos’s Agege district.

According to her, she was preparing dinner for her family in the kitchen, when her neighbor’s husband came to greet her, and she responded with “welcome sir.” Immediately the man’s angry wife went out.

She said: “The woman who heard us went out and warned me never to greet her husband, she said that if I tried again, she would take care of me. I don’t it had become a crime to respond to greetings.”

“The man’s wife said I had to wait for her, I continued to cook, a few minutes later I saw her with a saucepan, she hurried over to me, her husband tried to block me but the woman went behind me and poured hot water on my back.”

Blessing, writhing in pain, added, “Since she poured me hot water, I suffer. The worst situation is that my husband and I do not have enough money to pay for my medical care. I do not know what I did to this woman. We do not even have a problem. We only stay for four months in the compound. We later learned that most of the tenants who left the compound had left because of the painful nature of the woman.”

Blessing says that since Josephine poured hot water on her, she could not take care of her twins. The twins are only two years old. Her husband was forced to stop going to work to care for the children, since January.

Also reported that Josephine has broken the head of a neighbor during a minor quarrel. The Public Relations Officer of the State Police (PPRO), ASP Bala Elkana, confirmed the story. Elkana said the suspect was arrested.
