American business tycoon, investor, philanthropist, and one of the richest men on the planet, William Henry Gates has expressed his concern about the decline of the state of Africa.
2018 has left us many surprises, good and bad, but what is at the top of the list is the fact that Africa is not growing with the world, he said.
The founder of Microsoft and his wife have made it known in the 2019 edition of the annual report on their philanthropic work mainly in Africa.
In the report, the couple said that the median age of Africa, at 18, is the lowest in the world, making the continent the youngest. Bill attributed the statistics to the strong population growth in the poorest regions of sub-Saharan Africa.
He went on to say that the young population could be an asset to the continent if it could get good health care and quality education.
Bill Gates has the highest amount awarded to a charity ($100 billion) among the largest philanthropists.
