353 containers of wood mysteriously disappear in Gabon
353 containers containing illegal timber seized during a joint operation of Interpol and International Customs, mysteriously disappeared from the port of Owendo in Libreville Gabon.
The disappearance of the containers, yet sealed by the Gabonese justice, has aroused the indignation of the opinion and the Prosecutor of the Republic, Olivier N’Zahou.
“It appears from the information gathered that the containers were moved on the orders of certain agents of the Ministry of Water and Forests. Regardless of the ranks of the people involved in the so-called “Kevazingo network”, they will be pursued and will always remain in the law,” he said at a press conference.
The containers in question were loaded with Kevazingo, a very precious wood, sold at a high price in Asia
