Boko Haram attack kills 6 people in Chad
A total of six people were killed in the night from Saturday to Sunday on an island in Lake Chad.
A military source contacted by AFP said that “two customs officers, two water and forestry officers, a soldier and a civilian” were killed by elements of Boko Haram.
The attack was perpetrated against an army checkpoint in the town of Gabalami, not far from Kinassarom, on an island in Lake Chad.
According to the source, the assailants who were “pushed back” managed to escape without suffering losses.
Clashes between the Chadian army and elements of Boko Haram that have become common in the Lake Chad area in recent years have resulted in several deaths.
