Five delicious, healthy, low carb foods
Many people cut back on carbohydrates to reduce calories, lose weight, and control blood sugar. It is not easy to give up carbohydrate foods because they are pleasant to eat. But low-carb foods can be tasty and, importantly, healthy. Here is some of them.
Olives
Olives are an amateur product with a specific taste, which, despite the jokes about old age, is liked by many people. One hundred grams of olives contains only five grams of carbohydrates and vitamin E, sodium, calcium, and potassium.
You can eat olives just like that (of course, if you like the taste) or add them to salads, appetizers, soups, main courses, sandwiches, etc.
Almond
Almonds contain a small number of carbohydrates (13 grams), but they are pretty high in calories. However, this nut satiates quickly, making it difficult to overeat. Almonds are a rich source of magnesium and fibre, which help the nuts to provide long-lasting satiety.
Cheese
There are not many people in the world who do not like any cheese. Cheese may vary in calories, but most of them contain small amounts of carbohydrates. But they are rich in protein, calcium, sodium, phosphorus, vitamins A and B12. Cheese is a great snack on its own, but it also makes a great addition to meat and vegetable dishes, pastries and some wines.
Bell pepper
Bell pepper is just a storehouse of vitamin C, which contains very few carbohydrates and calories. Peppers can be used to make vegetable stews, salads, and many Asian dishes. Bell peppers, unlike chilli peppers, are not sharp and have a pleasant, sweet taste.
Beef
The amount of carbohydrates in beef almost tends to zero. Still, at the same time, it is rich in many other substances necessary for the body: iron, zinc, potassium, magnesium and B vitamins: diabetes and cancer.
