Forbes ranking 2019 of the 21 richest men in Africa
Forbes has published its 2019 ranking of the 21 richest men in Africa. The ranking was published Wednesday, January 9th. The list reveals that there are fewer billionaires and more poor people on the African continent in 2019.
Nigerian Aliko Dangote has retained his place as Africa’s richest man on Forbes’ list of African billionaires.
However, he lost nearly $ 2 billion compared to last year. Another Nigerian, Folorunsho Alakija, is among the billionaires. It suffered a loss of net worth between last year and this year, as it was 19th in the top 20.
Forbes reports that Alakija’s net worth fell due to the decline in the value of one of Nigeria’s most productive oil fields. It is claimed that the decline can be partly attributed to the fact that oilfield production has stabilized.
