How to make your workouts more varied and effective

For exercise to be as beneficial as possible, it must be varied as well as regular. Unusual and different physical activities will help make the training process more effective and enjoyable and significantly increase the motivation for sports. There are several ways you can change your workouts to be productive and enjoyable.

Train with a friend or partner

Five mistakes people make when losing weight and building muscle at the same time

A workout partner or friend helps make sports more fun and safer and heightens the sense of responsibility that can lead you to exercise regularly.

The idea that someone else is counting on you and waiting for you is a great motivator even when you don’t feel like going to the gym or running.

Take up a new sport

If you regularly go to the gym or do yoga, try to diversify your workout with new sports. For example, start swimming, dancing, playing tennis, climbing rocks, etc.

Add a game element

A small element of play and competition will make your workouts fun and exciting and will significantly increase the intensity. For example, you can host a mini-championship with friends or add a little randomness to your workouts and start doing exercises by rolling dice or flipping cards that will determine the number of sets and reps.

Become a member of a sporting event

The training required to prepare for competitive sports seriously is very different from regular amateur sports. Therefore, if you want more complex but at the same time effective training, become a participant in some sporting event: marathon or half marathon, bodybuilding competition, etc.

Exercise outdoors

Outdoor exercise is a great way to add variety to your exercise routine. But it is also a great opportunity to relieve stress, recharge your energy, clear your brain and get a dose of vitamin D (if you train on a sunny day).
