“Main strength” of Russian army was called the weakness of US
Electronic warfare (EW) has not received the attention it deserves in the US Army since the Cold War, according to Breaking Defense. The US military in this aspect has lagged behind competitors and is now forced to make up for the lost time.
Electronic warfare is a major strength of Russia and China and a critical weakness for the US military, which increasingly relies on radio networks, said the author of the material.
The article notes that the US military recently used some REB technology in the EDGE21 (Experimentation Demonstration Gateway Event 2021) tactical war games. In particular, a prototype set of common standards and interfaces for avionics Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) was tested.
This development is planned to be used in helicopters created within the framework of the Future Vertical Lift program.
Earlier, the Russian military succeeded in increasing the range of some electronic warfare means by 350%. During the conversation with journalists Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov, who supervises the military-industrial complex, mentioned two latest complexes of electronic warfare – “Triada” and “Palantine”, which can completely suppress enemy communication, disable electronic weapon systems and even block the work of spacecraft located hundreds of kilometres above the surface of the Earth.
