More than 170 people killed in strikes on Gaza Strip
At least 174 Palestinians became victims of Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip. The Al Jazeera TV channel reported this with reference to the Ministry of Health of the coastal enclave.
As specified, among the dead 47 minors and 29 women. Another 1,200 people were injured as a result of the shelling.
The Israeli Air Force attacked a 15-story building housing local and international media offices in the Gaza Strip. According to the Israeli military, they had asked to evacuate about an hour before the incident, but no one wanted to do so.
Israel attributed the strike to the fact that the building allegedly housed a Hamas intelligence headquarters that used the media offices and journalists working there as a cover.
The largest escalation in the conflict between Israel and Palestine took place on the evening of May 10. Both sides began exchanging rocket attacks after clashes in Jerusalem. Some 2,800 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory, some 430 of which exploded inside the Palestinian enclave.
Eight civilians and one soldier were reportedly killed in the attacks in Israel. Palestine lost 145 people after the Israeli shelling, and about a thousand more were wounded.
Earlier, U.S. President Joe Biden called on Palestine to stop shelling Israel.
