Father God, I understand how common it is for us to fall into a pit of dread and despair. We don’t have to remain there, however. We’ve decided to concentrate our gaze on You today. And we’re remembering that each item for which we express gratitude is a stepping stone out of the abyss we’ve been in. Thank You for revealing Your timeless truths to us again and over again, demonstrating how wonderfully competent You are at all times. We have nothing to fear with You by our side. I am grateful to You, Lord, for bringing Your wonderful, powerful, and protective peace into my life. My heart is filled with turmoil and confusion, Father God. My heart is filled with anxiety and bewilderment, and I feel as if I’m drowning in my surroundings. I’m in desperate need of the courage and peace that only You can provide. I’ve decided to rest in You right now. Amen.

Teach us, God, what it is to have trust in the midst of quiet. Help us find tranquility when we confront difficulties beyond our comprehension. Help me to rejoice in hope, be patient in sorrow, and pray faithfully. Everything is arranged according to your schedule. Remind us to be patient as we wait for your plan to unfold.

I pause right now to thank You, O God of Peace, not just because You deserve it, but also because I need it! Fill my thoughts with the long, long list of things great and little that are Your perfect gifts to me as I submit my precise requests to You right now. Most importantly, thank You for Your Son, for all He has done for me, and for the fact that I am in Him! Amen.
