Russia 2018: The Nigeria Super Eagles will receive $24 Million if they win the cup
Amaju Pinnick, chairman of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), said the Super Eagles have a chance to win $24 million if they play in the 2018 World Cup final.
The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that the World Cup will be held from June 14 to July 15 in Russia.
Pinnick told reporters in Abuja on Wednesday that the money was part of the deal with the players to share 50-50, all that would come to the country if they reached the final and raise the trophy.
“I do not put players under pressure. Pressure can be exerted unconsciously on them because we create a favorable environment for them.”
“If for example we have no money to prepare them, they can now relax but now we have given them everything in advance and now they should indulge.”
“If today they arrive in the final, money from the World Cup will be shared 50-50 between the team and the NFF.
“Winning the final is $48 million, which means the team will receive $ 24 million and the football house will take the remaining $24 million”, Pinnick said.
He also said that adequate preparation, including friendly A-class matches, has been secured with England and the Czech Republic to ensure that the team is doing well at the World Cup.
The boss of the NFF added that he had already earned $2.8 million to pay the allowances and bonuses of the players during the tournament.
