Technology: The WhatsApp app launches group video calls!

New on the social network of WhatsApp application, the app will soon launch the stickers and group video calls. This announcement was made by Mark Zuckerberg on 1st May 2018 at the annual F8 conference.

Video calling is one of the most popular features of the WhatsApp app. In 2016, the app has logged approximately 2 billion minutes of video calls since its launch. WhatsApp will integrate group video calls just like Instagram. The popular IM should be able to accommodate groups of four at the same time, far from the groups of 16 that offer Snapchat.

The popular messaging service, WhatsApp, would soon be banned from under 16 years old. Until now, it was reserved for people aged at least 13 years but the application wants to raise the minimum age of use in Europe.

The company wants to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation which comes into force on May 25 in the EU. WhatsApp now has more than 450 million daily users.

Mark Zuckerberg also announced that WhatsApp Business, WhatsApp’s separate enterprise application that was launched in 2017, now has 3 million users. At this conference, the CEO of Facebook has announced innovations on its social network but also all other companies in its group (Instagram, Oculus, WhatsApp).

Facebook will add to its functions that of a dating site for people looking for love and lasting relationships. This innovation is not meant to facilitate one-off meetings, but to help people build lasting relationships through Facebook.
