Teen (13) tries to strangle mother after she dumps his PlayStation

A 13-year-old French tried to strangle his mother in an outburst of rage. The woman had punished him by taking his PlayStation 4.

The dramatic incident happened Monday in the station area of Perpignan. The mother urged her son, who was truant, to go to school. During the discussion the woman punished her son and took off his PlayStation. The teen spent most of his time there, to the great annoyance of his mother.

The punishment, however, was not in good condition. The young man became furious, pushed his mother to bed and placed his arm firmly on her throat. He tried several times in succession to choke his mother, and in the meantime threatened them with death. One of the neighbours informed the police. They found the victim with a neighbour, wounded and bruised in the face. Her son had meanwhile retired to his room and was arrested by the police and detained in a youth institution. He confessed the facts but minimized them and claimed to be in constant conflict with his mother. Yet he said he “regretted it”. He will soon have to account for the juvenile judge.
