The feud between Taylor Swift and Kim & Kanye flares up again
The world is on fire, but Taylor Swift (30) and Kim Kardashian (39) clearly have another egg to peel with each other. The two have been involved in a feud since 2016. Although that storm seemed to have subsided, a leaked video fueled the fire earlier this week.
Because of her falling out with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift went through hell for four years. The singer wrote that on Instagram on Monday, now that a telephone conversation she had with the 42-year-old rapper has leaked in its entirety. The issue revolves around Kanye’s 2016 song ‘Famous’, where he refers to the singer as ‘bitch’ in the lyrics. “I made that bitch famous.”
Taylor was furious at the time because she says Kanye didn’t inform her about the song. Then Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian shared excerpts from a telephone conversation between the two, which she had secretly recorded, in which the singer seemed to agree to the lyrics of the song. Massive hate messages followed for Swift, who was labeled a liar.
Since this weekend, leaked recordings of the entire telephone conversation have been circulating online. From this, it becomes clear that Kanye has submitted part of the text to Taylor but never mentioned the passage in which he uses the word bitch. The singer was reluctant and asked if it would be a “mean” song. Kanye assures her that it is not, and she asks if she can hear the song before it comes out.

On Monday afternoon, Taylor writes in her Instagram Stories, “Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about the video footage that leaked, proving that I was telling the truth the whole time about that call (you know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family, and fans through hell for 4 years)… SWIPE UP to see what really matters”.
Fans who follow that advice will come to a website where Taylor requests donations to the World Health Organization and the Feed America food program. “If you are capable of that, then just like me, donate something during this crisis,” said the singer.
“She lies”
Kim Kardashian remained silent on the matter for several days but decided to respond on Tuesday morning. “Taylor Swift has chosen to reignite an old exchange – that at this point in time feels very self-serving given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now,” said the reality star on Twitter. “I didn’t feel the need to comment a few days ago, and I’m actually really embarrassed and mortified to be doing it right now, but because she continues to speak on it, I feel I’m left without a choice but to respond because she is actually lying.”
Kardashian then tries to clarify the situation surrounding the leaked phone call. “The only problem I had back then was that Taylor lied to her publicist, who said Kanye never called. They had clearly spoken to each other. Nobody denied that the word ‘bitch’ was used without her permission.” According to Kim, the song had not yet been written at the time of speaking. Nor does she take the allegations lightly that she manipulated the images. “Another lie. I had just posted a few clips on Snapchat to make my point. This is the last time I speak about it. Sorry to bore you with this, you are in serious trouble right now,” she concludes.
VMAs
The dispute started in 2009 when Taylor received the award for the best female video clip at the MTV VMAs. Kanye thought the award should have gone to Beyoncé and stormed the stage. “Taylor, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.” A public humiliation, but the rapper apologized shortly after.
But it hit again in 2015 when Kanye asked her to present the Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMAs that year. When the singer did, he said MTV had only asked her for better ratings because of their history. “I stood in the audience with my arms around his wife as a chill ran through my body. I realized that he has two faces.”
However, after a bunch of flowers, the singer decided to give him another chance, until a year later Kanye called her a ‘bitch’ in his song ‘Famous’. Then Taylor was really done with it. “If you want us to have problems with each other, then we have problems with each other. But let’s be honest about it.” Taylor, Kanye, and Kim have been bickering ever since.
