Already 164 deaths from Ebola epidemic in Eastern Congo
In the Congolese province of North Kivu 164 people were killed by ebola. This was reported by the Congolese Ministry of Health on 27th October. 257 infections were detected, 222 of which were officially confirmed.
Last month, the authorities announced that the Ebola epidemic had entered a second phase. It is difficult to stop the spread, because the region is plagued by various rebel groups. The assistance is therefore extremely difficult.
In total, 22,811 people have been vaccinated, including 11,328 people in Beni. The World Health Organization (WHO) finds the tenth Ebola outbreak “worrying”, but there is no question of “an international emergency”.
