Not coincidentally, on its sixtieth birthday, HBO yesterday launched its long-awaited documentary about Barack Obama. In the three-part portrait ‘Obama: In Pursuit of a More Perfect Union’, it becomes clear what an inspired speaker and debater he was in his younger years.
But the main theme is the skin color of the first black president of the US. The series begins with Obama’s childhood and takes the viewer on his path to the presidency, as the son of a white mother from Kansas and an African father.
In the first place, Obama himself, but also influential black leaders who shaped his world of thought, are mentioned.
The first part of the docuseries appeared on Streamz yesterday, the second and third will be released on the streaming platform today and tomorrow.
