Rwanda: hosts the 2018 Africa Innovation Award
The 7th edition of the renowned annual African Innovation Foundation (AIF) Pan-African innovation event will be held in Kigali from 11 to 12 October 2018, the Rwandan government informs. Rwanda was chosen “because of its strong commitment to building a knowledge-based economy and developing ICT policies that foster African innovation.”
The African Innovation Foundation (AIF) in collaboration with the Government of Rwanda announced yesterday that Rwanda will host the 7th edition of the prestigious Innovation Award for Africa (PIA).
Aimed at highlighting African ingenuity, while recognizing and connecting African innovators and entrepreneurs to the main facilitators of innovation ecosystems, the 7th edition of the PIA will be held from 11 to 12 October 2018 at the Kigali Convention Centre in Rwanda.
The decision to host the PIA in Rwanda has received the approval of the Government of Rwanda, and “the choice of the host country was based on the offer presented by the Rwandan government underlining its commitment to build a knowledge-based economy and encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship”.
A two-day event featuring “Strategic Activities to Attract Investment for Inclusive Innovation Ecosystems, Closing with an Award Ceremony for Best African Innovators.”
