This microchip is the smallest flying object ever made by man

World’s smallest winged-chip system ever made by human beings: the micro flyer. It can scan for disease and detect pollution.

The “micro flyer” can be equipped with miniature technology. This can range from antennas and sensors to memory storage or wireless communication.

“The goal of this project was to couple a flight system with an electronic microchip, with the idea that this would allow us to distribute highly functional miniature electronic devices, for example, to scan the environment for disease particles, to patrol or to detect pollution,” said Professor John A. Rogers of Northwestern University, who is heading the development project.
