This will be visible tonight! The “pink” super moon
Tonight it is worthwhile to look outside. We get to see a ‘pink’ super moon. This full moon is named after the blooming pink spring flowers, but in reality, is more likely to be gold in color.
A supermoon is a full moon that rises bigger and brighter than usual. The fact that the full moon is not always the same size is because the distance between the moon and the Earth is not always the same. This is the result of the moon’s egg-shaped orbit around the Earth.
During a super moon, the moon is about 27,000 kilometers closer to Earth than the average distance of 384,400 km. The full moon then appears about 7 percent larger and 14 percent brighter than normal.
The supermoon is expected to be visible tonight. The chance of clearances is high. To see the supermoon, you have to look to the southeast. During the rise, the supermoon is most beautiful when the full moon is low in the sky.
There may also be veil clouds, and then a ‘supermoon halo’ is also possible: a circle around the supermoon.
