After research, scientists found out that the oldest tiny organisms are present in the water. These microorganisms are more than one and a half million years old.

The water in the bloody waterfall contains iron and a large amount of salt. Its salinity is an order of magnitude higher than the salinity of ocean water. When it leaves the ice reservoir, the water reacts with oxygen to create such a frightening color.
