WhatsApp is working on an option to exclude contacts from last seen
WhatsApp will probably get an option to exclude contacts from the last seen function, according to WABetaInfo. This allows users to choose per contact whether they want them to see when they were last online.
WABetaInfo found the feature in a test version for iOS, but according to the site, it will also come to the Android version of the chat app. The feature is not yet enabled, even for beta testers. As a result, it is unknown if and when the function will become active.
With the option comes the ability to exclude contacts from last seen. That works reciprocally. If a user excludes someone, it is no longer possible to see when they were last online.
The feature is an addition to last seen, the feature that allows users to show contacts when they were last online. That feature has been around for years. WABetaInfo is a site aimed at test versions of WhatsApp and the site has therefore frequently been the first to report in recent years about new functions that have come later in the chat app.
