‘We are now delaying the date by which users will have to review and agree to the terms,’ the company said in a blog post. The changes, which were supposed to come into effect on February 8, will not be effective until May 15.
The introduction of the new conditions in the messaging rules, including a clause which provides for the sharing of personal data with Facebook and Instagram, has apparently caused many users to leave the platform, which was reported by the site PhonAndroid which had mentioned the influx of subscription requests to competing services, such as Signal or Telegram.
