Ariana Grande receives Women of the Year award

An emotional Ariana Grande (25) received the Women of the Year award on Thursday evening. Last month it was already known that she would get that honour during the Billboards Women in Entertainment gala.

“I find it interesting that this was one of the best years of my career, and the worst part of my life”, said the singer, who seemed to swallow her tears. In September, her ex, rapper Mac Miller, died of an overdose. Her engagement with Pete Davidson also lasted only a few months. And she became known to suffer from PTSS as a result of the bomb attack after her concert in Manchester. “Many people look at the position I now occupy as an artist and think: it really works for each other, it’s on top of it. And that is true, but in my personal life I have no idea what I’m doing.”

The singer shared a message to her fans on stage. “This has been a very confusing time. And I want to say here that if you are someone for whom the future seems unclear. That you are not alone in it.” Ariana expressed hope for herself for the future. “I look forward to giving myself the love and forgiveness that I gave to men so easily in the past year.”
