Cameroonian players criticized Samuel Eto’o donations

Some players have sharply criticized the donations made by Samuel Eto’o. They referred to as: “it is rather an insult to footballers”. The Cameroon Football Federation has distributed the gifts for players who play in the professional and amateur championships of the Indomitable Lions.

Cameroon Football Federation received the donations of food packages consisting of 5 kg of rice, one liter of refined oil, bottles of cheap water, tomato paste, and two mufflers from Samuel Eto’o. The items were distributed among the players who play in the professional and amateur championships.

The gesture was well appreciated but sharply criticized for the nature of the donations.

The Cameroonian football star, amidst the pandemic crises, donated food packages consisting of 5 kg of rice, one liter of refined oil, bottles of cheap water, tomato paste, and two mufflers. But his helping hands aroused mockery from the general manager of Cask FC de Bafoussam, Achille Biakan.

Biakan says, “regarding Samuel Eto’o’s donations, I would say that Fécafoot screwed up the mess. Eto’o has played football and knows what players need. Players do not need rice during this period.”

“Fécafoot should have advised those around Samuel Eto’o that he can also financially support the players,” said the leaders in an interview with Giga-foot.

“Let Samuel Eto’o understand that if we were to resume the championship, the players would need the items. Others need money because most clubs no longer honor their commitments to players.”

“We don’t help a player with two or three kilos of rice. It is rather an insult to footballers. I think Eto’o himself, when he was on the national team, did not accept certain things.”

“If he did not want certain things, why today, he must insult his little brothers who play the same football.”

“This will make it easy to understand that in Cameroon, there is no professional footballer, Jojo (Joseph Antoine Bell), who said that we are training thugs. This is what is proving itself,” concluded the concerned leader.

Samuel Eto’o, a former striker of FC Barcelona, has not responded to words that are not tender of the tour.
