Egypt-Uruguay: Edison Cavani reveals why he wanted Salah’s jersey

Edinson Cavani unveiled the reason why he absolutely wanted to collect Mohamed Salah’s jersey after their match even though the Egyptians did not win the match.

The Liverpool star injured on the shoulder during the Champions League final remained on the bench during the match. But Cavani wanted to honor him.

“I asked him for his jersey for my kids, who consider him a star,” Edison Cavani told reporters after the match.

After a tough game, Uruguay won the game, thanks to a goal from their Atletico Madrid star, Gimenez.

“A draw would have left a bitter taste because Uruguay deserved to win. We created a lot of chances, maybe without playing as well, but the Egyptian goalkeeper did a good keep. And at one point we believe that the ball did not want to pierce the net.”

“We won and that’s what counts. We are happy that we know we need to improve our performance. Now we have to rest and prepare for Wednesday’s match.”

Salah hopes to be in shape for their second game against Russia.
