The pain in the stomach caused by a chronic illness, poisoning, or any other problem with the gastrointestinal tract, very severely affects the appetite. If there are other symptoms along with the pain – nausea, diarrhea, and general weakness, then you want to think about food in the last place.
However, hunger and loss of strength because of the lack of nutrients will still make itself felt, so sooner or later, a person needs something to eat, even with a stomachache.
Here are a few foods that can be eaten when the stomach hurts: they are easily digested, well satiated, and relieve the unpleasant symptoms of stomach problems.
Sweet potatoes
Mashed sweet potatoes are rich in soluble fiber, which quickly become soft and easy to digest. Some studies show that soluble fiber in the diet helps relieve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome: bloating, stomach pain, and diarrhea. The substances in sweet potatoes are food for beneficial bacteria that improve digestion. Be sure to remove the potato’s skin before making mashed potatoes because they are slow and hard to digest.
Overripe bananas

Unlike thighs or drumsticks, the chicken breast doesn’t aggravate upset stomach symptoms because it contains a small amount of fat. To keep chicken healthy for the stomach, it is better to bake it in the oven or grill it without adding oil.
Hard-boiled eggs

However, if you have excessive gas or individual intolerance to egg protein, you should not eat eggs if you have stomach pain, or they will only make your condition worse.
Chicken broth
If you have a stomach ache and you want to eat something hot, have some chicken broth. It is effortless to digest and reduces stomach pain. The broth mustn’t contain many spices, especially spicy ones: red and black pepper, curry, and so on.
Canned vegetables
Canned vegetables are more digestible than fresh vegetables because they contain less fiber. They can be a great snack option for severe stomach cramps, but as long as they don’t contain spicy seasonings.
When choosing canned foods, look carefully at the packaging: it should be clean, without damage, the lids should not be swollen.
