Jennifer drops 55 kilos in a year: “These five tips work for me”

Jennifer Still is a writer from New York who enjoys eating, drinking and watching television. The woman has been overweight all her life. In less than a year, however, she now managed to lose 55 kilograms. To Business Insider, the lady reveals in five points how she has managed that.

Find a suitable diet

According to Jennifer, there is no diet that is suitable for everyone. By diet, by the way, she does not mean a strict and temporary eating pattern to get rid of your excess pounds, but rather a general approach to eating. Something else works for everyone. “Maybe that’s a vegetarian food style for you, for me that was the ketogenic diet.”

The keto diet is low in carbohydrates. Protein, fat, and vegetables are allowed. “I have no problem eating little carbohydrates, that’s why it fits me. I see myself doing this for a long time, but it is not the only way to lose weight. I realize that too.”

Avoid sugar

“I had a sugar addiction. As soon as I removed sugar from my diet, those little cravings disappeared. In the beginning, it was very difficult. But after a month I slept better, I had fewer problems with low blood sugar and I did not miss the sugar anymore. I found many of my favorite recipes online, but without sugar.”

Prepare meals

Jennifer spent one day a week preparing her meals. “That helped me. When I was busy, I heated up a meal like that. The few times that I did not have anything ready, I grabbed something that is not healthy.”

Do not compare yourself with others

“It is very easy to get frustrated when weight loss goes less fast than you actually want. This frustration can be enhanced once again when you look at ‘before and after’ photos of fellow sufferers. Everyone does it in his own way, at his own pace. I could always feel bad if someone with a comparable volume lost kilos faster than I did.”

Do not be too strict

Jennifer emphasizes that you should not be too strict for yourself either. “That is impossible to sustain. If it is Christmas or your partner’s birthday, then you should also be able to enjoy the food. The next morning I also succeeded in getting better again.”
