In southwest Nigeria, lawmakers from a regional parliament suddenly had to flee when a snake intrusion to the parliament. The reptile would have fallen from the roof into the room.
“We were about to enter the plenary when a big snake came out of parliament. That disrupted our meeting and we had to leave quickly,” said the spokesman for Ondo State House of Assembly, Olugbenga Omole. No one was injured by the snake.
According to the spokesperson, the snake entered because of the poor condition of the buildings. The lawmakers no longer wanted to set foot in the building until pest control came by and it was safe there.
